Expectations were high for former head coach Bruce Boudreau and the Vancouver Canucks heading into the 2022-23 season. The club competes in a weaker Pacific Division, most analysts predicting them to make the playoffs. The Canucks, on the other hand, have a 23-31-5 record and a .432 win percentage through 59 games.
The Canucks lost their most recent game against the Boston Bruins by a score of 3-1. Unfortunately, they will be without one of their top forwards, JT Miller. The club specified the JT Miller injury is a lower-body one.

JT Miller Injury Will See Forward Miss Time
The Vancouver Canucks have announced that the J.T. Miller injury will have him out week-to-week. It is unknown how Miller was injured. He did not report to practice following the team’s loss to Boston Bruins on Saturday and will miss Monday’s game against the Dallas Stars.
In his most recent game vs. Boston, Miller recorded two shots and three hits. In addition, he logged 18:37 of ice time in that contest with one giveaway and takeaway.
Miller signed a 7 year, $56,000,000 contract with the Vancouver Canucks on September 2, 2022. The contract has a cap hit of $8,000,000. Miller earned this deal from his 99-point campaign in 2022. He was the Canucks best player for the entire course of last season.
Production has been a different story for Miller this season. He has continued to struggle on the defensive side of the puck. In 59 contests this year, Miller has 20 goals and 34 assists for 54 points. It’s clear he won’t replicate his 99-point mark like last season.
What The JT Miller Injury Means
The Canucks in no way, shape, or form will make the playoffs in 2023. They recently shipped captain Bo Horvat to the New York Islanders. Rumors swirled around Miller’s name over the past 48 hours as the trade deadline approaches. However, with Miller’s injury, expect nothing to happen until the off-season. Vancouver may be in the running for Connor Bedard with Miller out and Horvat gone. The JT Miller is a big blow for the Canucks going forward
