Calgary Could Have A New Head Coach
Rumour: Darren Dreger discusses the latest buzz with the Calgary Flames and Darryl Sutter
.@DarrenDreger (@rayanddregs) on the #Flames:
“We’re all waiting for a decision on Darryl Sutter…there are lower-level rumblings that there are some players who are willing to not come back, even under contract.”@VanMortgage | https://t.co/qsmXdiqrjN

What a crazy turn this has taken. Just last season the Calgary Flames won the Pacific Division and finished third in the conference. In addition, they saw the team have two 100-point producers. Calgary Flames Head Coach Darryl Sutter had the team playing well. However, the club failed to make the postseason this year. The team did finish with 93 points, but was not the juggernaut they were last season. In addition, there is a buzz going around which surrounds his future.
Future Of The Calgary Flames Coach
Darryl Sutter is a good head coach and comes with a pedigree. He has over 700 wins as a head coach. In addition, he has helped coach a team to win the Stanley Cup twice (Los Angeles Kings). There are a slew of things that went wrong this season, but many are expecting a change with the Calgary Flames Head Coach.
Darren Dreger explains that the situation is tricky. Sutter still has two years left on his deal and ownership is holding up the decision. Nobody wants to lose any money, but that’s what it comes down to. However, the biggest impact this has is on the players. Names we’re not mentioned, but Dreger does state that certain players may not come back even if they are under contract. If Sutter remains coach that could be the case. It is not an ideal scenario if you are the Calgary Flames.
