Baltimore Ravens QB opens camp on COVID-19 list
There was big news on Wednesday as the Baltimore Ravens opened training camp without star quarterback Lamar Jackson
The team said Jackson tested positive for the coronavirus and is now on the NFL’s COVID-19 list. Per league protocols, unvaccinated players must stay on the COVID-19 list for at least 10 days. Jackson has not disclosed if he is vaccinated or not (he missed a game while on the COVID-19 list last season before the vaccine was available).
This is pertinent to the Raiders, of course, because Baltimore opens the regular season at Allegiant Stadium on Monday Night Football on Sept. 13.
The game is still 47 days away — but missing 10 days of training camp is not ideal for a quarterback and the entire offense. So, it will be interesting to see if Jackson is rusty or out of sync when he faces the Raiders Week 1.
In other Raiders’ links:
- Waller, Jacobs Madden ratings: Raiders’ tight end Darren Waller is rated as the third-best tight end in the NFL on the new Madden game. Las Vegas running back Josh Jacobs is rated at No. 8. Both sound reasonable.
- Beast Mode has a new gig: Former Raiders’ running back Marshawn Lynch is now a casino ambassador.
- Quarterback tiers: In his famous NFL quarterback tiers, my good pal Mike Sando of The Athletic has Raiders’ signal caller Derek Carr ranked in the third tier. That makes sense to me.
