Could this really happen?
We’ve seen some wild mock drafts over the years and even this year so far (with plenty more to come).
But this one, if it ever happened, would be nuts.
In a recent mock draft from Fox Sports, the mocker has the Las Vegas Raiders moving up from No. 6 to the No.1 pick in the draft to take Miami quarterback Cam Ward in a trade with the Tennessee Titans .
The Ward part of this mock makes sense, of course. He is considered the likely No.1 overall pick and the Tennessee Titans.
However, it’s the Raiders’ part of the mock that is a bit dubious. Yes, the Raiders need to groom a young quarterback and yes, they will likely draft a quarterback perhaps even in the first round.
But a trade up?
It would be extremely pricey and the Raiders already gave up a third-round pick for quarterback Geno Smith.
For a team with so many holes to fill to give up a ton of picks for two quarterbacks would be quite the decision.
