Raiders are gaining buzz in connection to Ben Johnson becoming their next head coach
The Las Vegas Raiders are searching for their new head coach and general manager. Mark Davis, who is working with Tom Brady to change the franchise’s culture, decided to start over and fire Antonio Pierce and Tom Telesco.
Interviews have been scheduled for the head coach but not the GM. The Candidates so far are Aaron Glenn, Robert Salah, Steve Spagnuolo, Todd Monken, Pete Carroll, and Ben Johnson. Johnson is the hottest coach on the market after helping the Detroit Lions become the best offense in the NFL.
Johnson interviewed with the Raiders virtually on Friday, and the meeting must have gone well. Ian Rapoport reported that the Lions offensive coordinator is a name to watch for the Raiders coaching vacancy. Also, they are willing to wait for Johnson if the Lions have a deep playoff run they are expected to achieve.

If Johnson becomes the Raider’s new head coach, it will be the buzz for next season at an all-time high. While the quarterback position doesn’t have a proper answer on the roster, the hope is Johnson could bring along the offense until the Raiders find their franchise guy.
Brady helping out with the search adds credibility to the Raiders front office. Johnson, considering the job after years of disarray, displays there is a chance for change within the organization.
