The Las Vegas Review-Journal reported the Raiders are looking to host the big game in 2029, 2030 or 2031
The Las Vegas Raiders hosted Super Bowl LVIII at Allegiant Stadium last year and the event was reportedly a major success. So, it shouldn’t come as much of a surprise that the big game could be headed to Las Vegas for a second time as Vincent Bonsignore of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported.
“The city and the Raiders submitted a letter of intent to host the league’s championship game in 2029, 2030 or 2031,” Bonsignore wrote. “The letter was in response to the NFL reaching out to see if Las Vegas would be interested in hosting during that time frame.
“The league is leaning toward coming to Allegiant Stadium in 2029, Sports Business Journal reported Thursday. That would mean just a five-year turnaround between Las Vegas hosting Super Bowl 58 and hosting the game again.”
Bonsignore also noted that the NFL announces the Super Bowl site four years in advance, so Las Vegas could get some good news soon. Considering the league had success during its first go-around in Sin City and commissioner Goodell said, “The NFL looks forward to coming back,” it seems likely the Raiders’ will host another championship game.
Hopefully, the Kansas City Chiefs won’t be involved this time around…
In Other Raiders’ Links:
- Potential free agent cornerback target: “Given his ties to Las Vegas’ new head coach Pete Carroll, one player to consider on the open market is D.J. Reed from the New York Jets,” Silver and Black Pride wrote. “…He’s recorded over 600 snaps in each of the last five seasons and has earned PFF coverage grades in the 70s every year, bottoming out at 70.1 and reaching as high as 79.5.”
- Options to replace Robert Spillane: “If [Bobby] Wagner were to come westward to Las Vegas, Wagner would reunite with not only Carroll, but linebackers coach John Glenn, who served as the Seattle Seahawks linebacker boss from 2018-23,” S&BP’s Ray Aspuria wrote.
- Ronnie Stanley a potential target?: “The Raiders actually did an impressive job finding OL value in the 2024 NFL Draft, finding a pair of starting-caliber players in Jackson Powers-Johnson and DJ Glaze,” The 33rd Team’s Tyler Brooke wrote. “Kolton Miller has been a mainstay at left tackle, but it might be time to find his replacement as he enters the final year of his contract coming off of one of his worst years as a pro, allowing 38 pressures and seven sacks.”
- Raiders improve defense in mock draft: “Mason Graham, DT, Michigan,” The Review-Journal’s Adam Hill chose as his pick for the Raiders. “This might not be a glaring need, but there are some pending contract situations on the interior of the defensive line, and Graham might be the second-best player in this class behind Carter. This pick could give the Raiders one of the league’s best defensive lines.”
