On a recent podcast, the Steelers’ quarterback revealed the Raiders were interested
The Las Vegas Raiders were expected to add a new quarterback this off-season to compete with Aidan O’Connell. There were plenty of ideas about who the Raiders might add to the competition for one of the connections of Justin Fields.
Fields played under Luke Getsy for two seasons and was inconsistent. He did have a breakout season running the football for 1143 yards and eight touchdowns. Many thought a reunion would happen between the two but the Raiders opted to go with Gardner Minshew.
During the off-season, the Raiders were not connected to Fields, but he shed light on the situation during a podcast interview. When speaking with Cam Heyward he revealed the Raiders were one of the teams showing interest.
“I’m not sure of all the teams, but there were a lot of teams that already had solidified quarterbacks and I didn’t want to do that. Chargers were one, Ravens were another. Raiders, they talked a little bit. I don’t know too much. Who else was in there I don’t know, but a lot of teams had solidified quarterbacks who just got new contracts so I didn’t want to be there.”
Fields is having a successful season with the Steelers and might not have had the same success in Las Vegas. However, it is interesting to hear the Raiders did try to unite him with Luke Getsy.
