Unit is giving up more points than last season under coach
One of the reasons why Antonio Peirce was promoted to being the full-time head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders was the way his defense responded after he became the interim coach last November.
The former Raiders’ linebacker coach sparked the defense after Josh McDaniels was fired. The defense allowed more than 21 points in just two of nine games under Peirce as the interim head coach.
They went 5-4 in those games to finish the season 8-9.
This season, though, the Raiders have allowed more than 21 points in all three games. they have allowed 22, 23 and 36 points so far and are 1-2.

The Raiders’ defense is talented and it has been very good at times this season, but it does need to tighten up some.
In other Raiders’ news:
- Not a lot of snaps: Zamir White is not on the field much.
- Not great: The Raiders’ chances of making the playoffs aren’t great according to this formula.
- The plan: Davante Adams speaks about turning the season around.
