Former Raiders’ star wide receiver hasn’t made impact in New York
Let’s take a break from the misery that has been the Las Vegas Raiders’ 2024 season and revel in the fact that the Davante Adams trade to the New York Jets last month isn’t working for the player who requested to leave the Silver and Black and for his new team has coveted him.
The 3-7 Jets are 1-3 since trading for Adams on October 15.
Davante Adams has been targeted 5+ times 144 times (playoffs included). His 2.38 yds/target Sunday were 7th lowest ahead of:
0.60 vs NO, Week 8 2022
0.67 vs KC, Week 16 2023
1.27 vs Chi, Week 12 2015
1.57 vs Det, Week 8 2023
1.67 vs Pitt, Week 16 2022
1.71 vs Ari, Week 2 2022— Josh Dubow (@JoshDubowAP) November 11, 2024
He has 20 catches for 206 yards and one touchdown in four games with the Jets. He had 18 catches for 209 yards and one touchdown in three games with the Raiders this season.
The Jets aren’t winning with Adams and he’s not going much. So, because of the conditions of his his trade, the Raiders will likely receive a third-round pick in 2025. They’d get a second rounder he is is named a first or second team All-Pro or if the Jets advance to the AFC championship game. Those conditions seem highly unlikely.
