Bowers is making his case to become the first tight end to win offensive rookie of the year
The Las Vegas Raiders lost their eighth game in a row on Black Friday. After pushing the Kansas City Chiefs to the limit, they lost 19-17 after an early snap, which allowed the Chiefs to pull it out late.
While the team continues to spiral with one of the league’s worst records, one player continues to stand out. Brock Bowers was expected to become a special out of Georgia but was already making it known he could be the best tight end in football.
Bowers put on a show vs. the Chiefs, finishing the game with ten receptions for 141 yards and a touchdown. He made a spectacular one-handed catch and topped it with a touchdown late in the third with an explosive play. After the trade of Davante Adams, he became the number-one target for the Raiders.
Looking at his stats throughout the season, he has a chance to win Offensive Rookie of the Year. Bowers has 84 catches, 884 yards on the season, and four touchdowns. He is on pace for 119 receptions on the year, which would be a record for tight ends.
Brock Bowers is really in a tier of his own man
Here’s his 17 Game Pace:
➖119 Receptions
➖1,252 Yards
➖6 TD’sThe most receptions by a rookie TE?
Sam LaPorta: 86
The most receptions by a TE?
Zach Ertz: 116
We thought LaPorta was unreal last year

If the Raiders draft a quarterback in the 2025 NFL draft, they will have a go-to pass catcher ready. Tom Telesco was questioned about his pick of Bowers, but it has proven itself over time.
