Brock Bowers, Jakobi Meyers join elite franchise company
We all know the Las Vegas Raiders’ offense wasn’t exactly a thing of beauty during the 2024 season in which the team went 4-13.
Yet, there were some bright spots and even some historic franchise achievements.
Rookie tight end Brock Bowers and No. 1 wide receiver Jakobi Meyers each broke the 1,000-yard receiving barrier. Bowers had 1,194 receiving yards and Meyers had 1,027 receiving yards. According to this recent tweet by The Associated Press, it was the fourth time in franchise history that the Raiders had two players accomplish the feat:
#Raiders have 2 players (Brock Bowers and Jakobi Meyers) with 1000+ yards receiving in same season for 4th time ever. Also:
2016: Amari Cooper and Michael Crabtree
2001: Jerry Rice and Tim Brown
1968: Fred Biletnikoff and Warren Wells— Josh Dubow (@JoshDubowAP) January 6, 2025
That’s pretty impressive considering the Raiders didn’t have strong quarterback play this season. So, the Bowers-Meyers combination is definitely something the team can build on in 2025.
