Raiders were before average in short-yardage situations
The Las Vegas Raiders have not been a great short-yardage team in recent seasons.
Whether it was near the goal line or late-down situations, the Raiders have struggled some on short yardage plays.
According to a recent tweet by NFL analyst Dov Kleiman, the Raiders’ conversion percentage rate in third down and three or less yards to go was 54.4 percent. That was just the 22nd highest rate in the NFL.

That’s pretty bad in such short-yardage situations. New Las Vegas offensive coordinator Luke Getsy has to figure outa way to improve that percentage rate. He had better success with the Chicago Bears last season. The Bears had the 12th highest conversion rate on third down in short yardage situations.
Perhaps he can steer the Raiders in that direction this season.
