New defensive tackle added
The Las Vegas Raiders recently claimed defensive tackle Jonah Laulu off waivers.
Let’s take a closer look at Laulu:
Size:
6-5, 295 pounds.
NFL experience:
He was a seventh-round pick of the Indianapolis Colts this year. He played in the preseason, but was waivers on the cut-down day.
College:
He started his college career at Hawaii. He was there from 2018-21 and then finished at Oklahoma, spanning 2022-23. Laulu, 24, moved from defensive end to defensive tackle with the Sooners in 2023.
Hometown guy:
Laulu is from Las Vegas. He went to Centennial High School.
How he will fit in with Raiders:
He is a developmental player. He could use to add some weight, but he is a solid athlete, who has potential to grow, even though he didn’t show he was quite ready to play when he was with the Colts. If the Raiders have patience with him and injuries don’t force him onto the playing field prematurely, he could develop nicely.
