Las Vegas reportedly cutting both Nathan Peterman and Carter Bradley
The quarterback position has been the focal point of the Las Vegas Raiders’ training camp and preseason and now, on the day that the initial 53-man roster must be set, it appears they will keep just two quarterbacks on the roster.
But it is a fluid situation.
For now, though, it seems the Raiders will head into the regular season with starting quarterback Gardner Minshew and backup Aidan O’Connell.
The Raiders are reportedly cutting both veteran Nathan Peterman and undrafted rookie Carter Bradley. He could be headed to the practice squad, which will be assembled starting Wednesday after the waiver-claim period.
Important note as teams construct their initial 53-man rosters:
NFL teams were informed that the NFLPA vetoed the revised Emergency 3rd Quarterback rule that would have allowed teams to elevate a bona fide QB from the practice squad an unlimited number of times.

If the Raiders do want to add a quarterback to the 53-man roster or to the practice squad beginning Wednesday, there will be options. They include Bailey Zappe (New England Patriots), Brett Rypien (Chicago Bears), Sam Hartman (Washington Commanders), Desmond Ridder (Arizona Cardinals), C.J. Beathard (Jacksonville Jaguars) and Nate Sudfield (Detroit Lions).
