QB is rewarded for hot start to the season
The award winning streak is back on.
The NFL announced its Player of the Month awards for September and Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Derek Carr was the AFC Offensive Player of the Month after his ridiculous start to the season as he has sparked the team to a 3-0 record.

On Wednesday, the Raiders’ streak of having Players of the Week ended. Defensive end Maxx Crosby was the Defensive Player of the Week for the first game, and in Week 2, kicker Daniel Carlson was the AFC Special Teams Player of the week. Ironically, Carr didn’t win a Player of the Week award in September.
However, there was little chance Carr wasn’t going to win the Player of the Month award. He is leading the NFL with 1,203 passing yards and he is on pace to shatter the single-season passing yardage record. Carr has been brilliant so far and is an early NFL MVP candidate.
This award may be the first in a special season for Carr and the Raiders.
