It feels like this has been said every year recently, but this offseason will be a crucial one for the Las Vegas Raiders. The team has fired another coach, choosing to part ways with Antonio Pierce, and as the franchise looks to get back to its winning ways, the future of its best player and leader, Maxx Crosby, will come into question once again.
Crosby has been open about his desire to win now with the Raiders. He loves this franchise and wants to remain here, but not if the team continues to lose, as it has throughout most of his career. And now, with Pierce out, Crosby is looking at yet another coach next season.
Crosby had a great relationship with Pierce, who clearly had not lost the locker room, and on his podcast, The Rush, Crosby reacted to his firing while also speaking on his future with the Raiders via Tashan Reed of The Athletic:

You can almost sense a bit of frustration with Crosby, as the Raiders have had no consistency in terms of coaching, vision, and direction since he’s been there. Whoever replaces Pierce will be the fifth coach in the last five years for the Raiders, and it is just impossible to have any level of success without stability at the top, which the Raiders have lacked.
Crosby has spoken previously about talking to ownership and the front office this offseason and getting a better sense of the plan going forward and those discussions will be even more important now. He clearly wants to stay and win with the Raiders, but as he said, he has to do what is best for him, and if the Raiders franchise can not build that winning institution, he sounds open to going elsewhere.
The potential of losing Crosby puts even further pressure on owner Mark Davis, minority owner Tom Brady, and everyone else involved in these big decisions to get them right, as there is a lot on the line in the near future if they don’t.
Raiders fire GM Tom Telesco after one year
Right in line with the constant turnover inside the Raiders, the franchise has decided to part ways with GM Tom Telesco after just one year as well.
It’s a bit of a surprise as Telesco didn’t really get much of a chance to build this team the way he sees fit, and his work in the 2024 NFL Draft was actually pretty good. Nonetheless more changes at the top of the Raiders franchise are coming.
