Without a doubt, Maxx Crosby is the leader of this Las Vegas Raiders team and has done everything right during his tenure with the franchise. He is one of the best defensive linemen in the NFL, and Crosby has been open about the lack of team success bothering him, as he wants to win now.
Someone else who can very much relate to that is Cleveland Browns star defensive end Myles Garrett, who, like Crosby, has been dominant for years with little to show for it in terms of team success. Garrett recently spoke on his desire to win now and plans on having conversations with the Browns’ front office in order to get an idea of the franchise’s plans for the future.
Of course, many wondered what Crosby’s thoughts on Garrett’s comments were, and in the latest episode of The Rush podcast, Crosby discussed it, saying he completely agreed with everything Garrett said and is in the exact same boat:
“You know, for me, I think everything he said, like, I fully agree with, you know what I mean? I fully align with, I got at the end of the day, like, I’m not going to play the game forever. That’s where it gets, you could ruffle some feathers and people are always like, oh, he wants out or he… Cause I hear it all the time. People love to talk about me getting traded and that’s the reality. Like I’ve earned that right to be in, you know what I mean? At the end of the day, I agree with what Myles said. I’m on the same boat. I want to win. You know what I mean? I want to know there’s a real plan and execution behind it.”
This is in line with what Crosby has said in the past, and it makes sense. The Raiders star would continue on, noting how much he has sacrificed over the years, including six surgeries and losing time with his family, adding that it has been very tough and frustrating with all of the changes constantly going on within the team:
“And like, yeah, it’s been tough. You know what I mean? It’s been six years of inconsistency. You know what I mean? It’s new coaches every other year and this and this and that and new teammates. And there’s been plenty of times where I’m like, ****, like this D-line is cold. And then I come back and every single one of them is gone. You know what I mean? And it’s like, what the, you know what I mean? And then it just, there’s on and on and on. There’s a lot of things. So it’s just like, it’s tough, bro.”
Crosby also offered a lot of praise to Garrett, noting how good both have been and want to be part of a winning franchise. And like Garrett, Crosby plans on having some conversations with the Raiders’ brass on many topics this offseason:
“And yeah, like I said, there’s obviously a million conversations to be had. Like, it’s no secret, you know what I mean? Like my contract situation, I have no more guaranteed money. There’s a lot of different things. Like obviously, you know, there’s going to be a lot of things that need to be talked about. I’m looking forward to those conversations. So yeah, it’s going to be awesome. I’m really looking forward to this off season, the process.”
Crosby has made it crystal clear that he wants to remain with the Raiders for his entire career, but he wants to win above all else. If this franchise can give him the opportunity to play in the playoffs on the biggest stage, he will give them everything he’s got. But if they can’t turn things around, no one will blame Crosby for seeking to go elsewhere, as he deserves everything he’s asking for.
Raiders’ Maxx Crosby out for rest of the year after ankle surgery
As Maxx Crosby noted, he is putting his body through everything in order for the Raiders to win. Unfortunately, his body betrayed him this year, and the star defensive end will miss the rest of the season after undergoing ankle surgery.
Crosby made the announcement on his social media page while adding that he will never change his approach to the game of football and will always do everything in his power to be on the field for the fans.
