Carter Bradley promoted
The Las Vegas Raiders made a flurry of moves to address their flux at quarterback and ended their starting running back’s season in the process.
The Raiders signed rookie quarterback Carter Bradley to the 53-man roster off of the practice squad. Starting quarterback Aidan O’Connell reportedly has a bone bruise on his leg and it is unknown if he will be able to play Monday night Monday night against the Atlanta Falcons at Allegiant Stadium. Backup Desmond Ridder is set to start if O’Connell can’t play.
The Raiders also signed quarterback Jake Luton to the practice squad to replace Bradley there.
To make room for Bradley on the 53-man roster, the Raiders placed running back Zamir White on the injured reserve. Thus, his season is over with just four games remaining. White had missed the past three games with a quad injury.
It was a disappointing season for White, who replaced Josh Jacobs as the starter after he went to the Green Bay Packers in free agency and he is flourishing there. White, a fourth-round pick in 2022, started the final four games last season when Jacobs was hurt and he had two 100-plus yard games.
White struggled this season and lost playing time. He started five of the eight games he played in and had just 183 yards rushing on 65 carries and he averaged just 2.8 yards per carry. The team will likely try to upgrade from White in 2024.
The Raiders also signed defensive tackle Tyler Manoa to the practice squad and cut defensive tackle Marquan McCall from the practice squad.
