Raiders fall in the draft after winning the tank bowl, leading to mixed reactions on X/Twitter
Well, the Tank Bowl certainly lived up to the hype.
There weren’t many expectations heading into the Week 16 matchup between the Las Vegas Raiders and Jacksonville Jaguars. Both teams have been bad this season and it showed on the field why they are competing for positioning in the NFL Draft order.
Quarterback Mac Jones missed several opportunities to create explosive plays and the Jaguars continuously shot themselves in the foot, losing two fumbles and drawing eight penalties for 60 yards. The lowest moment came on Jacksonville’s final drive where running back Travis Etienne converted on fourth and one, only for the run to get negated by a holding penalty and Jones to check the ball down on fourth and 11.
All of that culminated in just 14 points, allowing the Raiders to get the win.
But Las Vegas certainly had its fair share of issues, converting just four of 14 third-down attempts and only putting 19 on the board. It’s hard to say the Silver and Black were much better than the Jaguars, they just weren’t as bad as one of the worst teams in the league.
As a result, the Raiders are 3-12 and moved from the first to the sixth overall pick in the NFL Draft, according to Tankathon. That’s led to mixed feelings on X/Twitter as the people in the building are happy about the first win since September and ending a 10-game losing streak while many fans are panicking about the quarterback situation.
Mark Davis was apparently happy, could that save Antonio Pierce’s job?
#Raiders owner Mark Davis was in the locker room clapping and talking to Daniel Carlson and AJ Cole when the locker room opened to the media. Some other players were dancing. Davis was in a good mood. Doesn’t seem to care about the draft order ramifications of the win over JAX.

How are you feeling about picking sixth?

Raiders sacrificing a clear path to a QB for a win over Mac Jones feels like a Pyrrhic victory https://t.co/Sk7GVXVEKG

Is Pierce a secret mole for the Giants?
ANTONIO PIERCE… FOREVER A #GIANTS LEGEND.
Pierce basically secured the Giants’ first-overall pick by having his #Raiders win a game today.
The entire state of New York is extremely grateful for Pierce tonight. pic.twitter.com/dtNRVv0IOl

If the order stands, Las Vegas might have to make a move to get a quarterback.
Always a chance.
But at this point they’ll have to https://t.co/Z4fnq9tA3m
