Las Vegas lost 4 defensive starters on the open market
The Las Vegas Raiders saw four defensive starters leave this week in NFL free agency.
To recap, they are:
- Middle linebacker Robert Spillane went to the New England Patriots on a reported three-year, $37.5 million deal.
- Safety Tre’von Moehrig went to the Carolina Panthers on a reported three-year, $51 million contract.
- Cornerback Nate Hobbs signed with the Green Bay Packers on a reported four-year, $48 million deal.
- Linebacker Divine Deablo went to the Atlanta Falcons on a reported two-year, $14 million contract.
Prior to free agency, new Las Vegas Raiders coach Pete Carroll said it was important that the Raiders keep all of their top defensive free agents in unrestricted free agency. The two they kept (Maxx Crosby and Isaiah Pola-Mao were not among the unrestricted free agents group) were defensive end Malcolm Koonce and defensive tackle Adam Butler.
It’s not a surprise that some of these free agents departed because the market exploded. Which one do he think the Raiders will miss the most?
