Mississippi quarterback has visited Las Vegas
The Las Vegas Raiders have studied and visited with several quarterback prospects in anticipation of this week’s NFL draft.
Among those quarterbacks is Mississippi’s Jaxson Dart, who recently visited the team’s Henderson, Nevada headquarters.
Dart is considered one of the top prospects at the quarterback position this year and he should go in the higher rounds. Perhaps the Raiders could target him in the second round, they have the No. 37 overall pick, or if they trade down from No. 6 or trade back into the first round.
While the Raiders are committed to new starter Geno Smith, who turns 35, for the time being, they are expected to draft a quarterback this month to groom behind Smith, who they traded a third-round pick (No. 92) to the Seattle Seahawks last month.
Do you like the idea of the Raiders taking Dart, who went to high school with Raiders’ second-year offensive lineman Jackson Powers-Johnson in Draper, Utah, to groom under Smith or do you think he isn’t the right prospect to develop as the team’s quarterback of the future.
