Plenty of needs remain
The Las Vegas Raiders got off to a good start with the surprising selection of Georgia tight end Brock Bowers with the No. 13 overall pick in the first round of the NFL draft on Thursday night.
Bowers was a terrific value pick, but, truthfully he did not address a major need and the Raiders have some. So, there is some work to do Friday in rounds two and three. Let’s take a look at who the Raiders’ Friday picks could be:
Second Round
No. 44: BYU tackle Kingsley Suamataia:
Many thought tackle would be the focus at No. 13. But the position is deep and Suamataia is a fit who the Raiders had studied. This would be another solid pick.
Third round
No. 77: South Carolina quarterback Spencer Rattler:
The Raiders need a young quarterback after seeing all the top prospects go in the first round. Rattler may be the next best quarterback and the mid third-round is his wheelhouse. The problem is he may go in the second round because there is still a need around the league at the position. If the Raiders can get him, he’d be a solid get here.
