Chip Kelly bringing coach from Ohio State
The Las Vegas Raiders have hired Pete Carroll as their new head coach. He is building his new staff. He has reportedly hired Sean Binckes as an offensive assistant.
Let’s get to know Binckes better:
Age:
30.
Last job:
He was at Ohio State the past two seasons. He was a graduate assistant who helped coach the tight ends.
Coaching experience:
Prior to being at Ohio State, Binckes was at Temple in 2022 where he coached the wide receivers. He coached running backs at Florida International University in 2021.
Ties to Raiders’ staff:
He worked under new Las Vegas offensive coordinator Chip Kelly in 2024 when Kelly was the Buckeyes’ offensive coordinator in a season that ended with a national championship.
Expected duties with the Raiders:
Binckes will likely be a general offensive assistant and perhaps perform some quality-control coaching duties.
Why the Raiders would hire him:
Clearly, Kelly thinks Binckes is ready to coach at the NFL level.
