Defensive line coach get promotion
The Las Vegas Raiders have hired Pete Carroll as their new head coach. He is going to interview many people for assistant coaching jobs. One possible defensive coordinator candidate is Karl Scott and The Athletic has reported Rob Leonard will interview as well.
The #Raiders‘ search for a coaching staff is underway. They requested an interview with Seahawks defensive backs coach Karl Scott for their defensive coordinator vacancy, as @jjones9 reported.
They’re also interviewing their own DL coach, Rob Leonard, for DC.

He was the Raiders’ defensive line coach the past two seasons.
Coaching experience:
Leonard has been an NFL coach for 12 seasons. He was the outside linebackers coach of the Baltimore Ravens in 2022.He had multiple roles on the Miami Dolphins’ staff from 2019-21. He had several roles on the New York Giants’ staff from 2013-18. He began his coaching career at his alma mater, North Carolina State, from 2010-12.
Why the Raiders would hire him:
Leonard did good work with the Raiders’ defensive front and he is known for challenging players. He is probably ready to take the next step in his career.
