One of the most respected and anticipated mock drafters out there has put out his second mock draft of the NFL offseason. Daniel Jeremiah posted who he thinks will go where in the top 32 picks.
The Raiders pick at six overall. Here’s how he sees those top six picks going:
- Tennessee Titans — Abdul Carter, ED, Penn State
- Cleveland Browns — Cam Ward, QB, Miami (FL)
- New York Giants — Travis Hunter, WR/CB, Colorado
- New England Patriots — Will Campbell, OT, LSU
- Jacksonville Jaguars — Mason Graham, DT, Michigan
- Las Vegas Raiders — Shedeur Sanders, QB, Colorado
I wouldn’t be shocked if the Raiders decided to wait until Day 2 of the draft to address the QB position, but I do see Sanders as a good fit in Chip Kelly’s offense.
Sanders is the most commonly picked player for the Raiders by a significant margin in our Raiders mock draft roundup. And he would be their first attempt at getting a franchise QB with their top pick since they took JaMarcus Russell number one overall in 2007.
The draft’s number two QB being there at sixth overall is a combination of the talent of the players at other positions atop the draft, and that some teams may not see Sanders as worthy of a top five pick in this draft. Hence Jeremiah’s prediction that QB-needy teams like the Titans and Giants pass up drafting him to take Abdul Carter and Travis Hunter respectively.
