High honor for Raiders’ rookie star
Brock Bowers had a historic rookie season and it has been recognized.
Friday, the Associated Press announced their All-Pro teams and the Las Vegas Raiders’ rookie tight end was named to the first team. The All-pro teams, which is voted by media members, is considered the highest individual honor, more so than being named to the Pro bowl. Bowers is a Pro Bowl starter as well.
The Raiders’ first-round pick had an incredible record-breaking season. The Georgia product, who was the No. 13 overall draft pick, finished the season with 112 catches for 1,194 yards. He set the NFL tight end rookie record for catches (86), receiving yards (1,076), overall receptions for a rookie (105) and the Raiders’ single-season reception record (107).
TE Brock Bowers (@brockbowers17) has been named to the Associated Press 2024 NFL All-Pro First Team.
Bowers becomes just the 4th rookie tight end in the NFL since 1960 to earn @AP First Team All-Pro honors – the first since 2002 (Jeremy Shockey).#RaiderNation | @Raiders https://t.co/pIBqNcxDG8

He is an NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year candidate, but Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels is considered the favorite to win the award. Wednesday, Bowers was named first team All-Pro by the NFLPA. However, the AP’s team is the official award.
The Associated Press reports Bowers joins Jim Otto (1960), Marcus Allen (1982) and Shane Lechler (2000) as Raiders who were named first-team All-Pro.
No other Raiders’ made the first or second team, but some received votes.
Here are #Raiders other than Brock Bowers who received All-Pro votes (3 pts for 1st, 1 for 2nd team):
P AJ Cole 18 (5 1sts)
LS Jacob Bobenmoyer 5 (1 1st)
LB Robert Spillane 5— Josh Dubow (@JoshDubowAP) January 10, 2025
Also, former Raiders’ wide receiver Davante Adams wasn’t named either a first or second-team All-Pro, so that means the Raiders will get the New York Jets third-round pick to finalize the October trade. the pick would have been a second-round pick had the Jets, who did not make the playoffs, advanced to the AFC championship game or if Adams was an All-Pro.
