The San Francisco 49ers have had a productive day offensively against the Las Vegas Raiders, but punter Mitch Wishnowsky made sure he made his mark as well.
Leading 20-3, the 49ers had to punt on their first drive of the second half. Wishnowsky took advantage of the opportunity by completely flipping the field.
The third-year pro blasted a 63-yard punt, which was downed inside the five-yard-line.

Wishnowsky, a 29-year-old Australian native and Utah alum, has been San Francisco’s punter since 2019. He’s also handled kickoff duties.
In 2020, Wishnowsky averaged 46.9 yards per punt, good for ninth best in the NFL. As he showed today, leg strength is clearly not an issue.
While Niners fans will be happy to have a reliable punter, they’d prefer he doesn’t have to work very often. Today, he hasn’t, as San Francisco has produced over 300 yards of total offense and 34 points in just over three quarters.
