After two seasons in San Francisco, Trey Lance’s career is getting a much-needed refresh in Dallas.
On Tuesday, the former No. 3 pick arrived at the Cowboys facility and spoke on his reaction to last week’s trade.
Per Clarence Hill Jr., “Trey Lance says he got a warm welcome from Cowboys QB Dak Prescott and he is excited to learn everything from him. He said his ‘eyes lit up’ when he was told he was being traded to Cowboys.”

The San Francisco 49ers gave up an unbelievable amount to move up and draft Lance in 2021. However, injuries and some mismanagement have gotten in the way of tapping his full potential.
Coming out of North Dakota St. Lance really didn’t have much playing experience prior to joining the league, but he was drafted as a developmental quarterback on a win-now roster.
It’s hard to see him carving out much playing time in Dallas either with Dak Prescott still leading the Cowboys’ offense. With that said though, things have just gotten interesting in Big D.
