San Francisco 49ers All-Pro left tackle Trent Williams left last weekend’s win over the Green Bay Packers with a right ankle injury. He was seen on crutches after the game.
As the week unfolded, San Francisco continued to get positive news on Williams, but they officially deemed him “questionable” to play in this afternoon’s NFC Championship Game.
There will be no question about it. Williams reportedly told CBS NFL insider Josina Anderson that he’s “all good” to go against the Los Angeles Rams this evening.

We will have to see how Williams’ ankle looks during the game, but the fact he will be out there in his usual spot at left tackle is a major boost for the Niners’ chances.
Williams has been dominant this entire season, arguably the top offensive lineman in the NFL. In addition to locking down Jimmy Garoppolo’s blind side, he has also been used as a blocker in motion during the postseason.
“I can’t believe it’s legal. It’s scary for me to even watch,” Niners head coach Kyle Shanahan said of the new wrinkle with Williams.
The Niners and Rams will kick off at 6:30 p.m. ET tonight on FOX.
