The San Francisco 49ers on Tuesday announced their final 27 roster cuts to get from 80 players down to the required 53.
This isn’t necessarily the final roster with players potentially destined for Injured Reserve which would open a roster spot. The 49ers didn’t have a ton of surprises in the final roster, with real questions at only a couple positions.
One small surprise came down Tuesday morning when NFL Media’s Tom Pelissero reported linebacker Jonas Griffith would be traded to the Broncos.
Another mild surprise is second-year OL Colton McKivitz getting waived in favor of veteran OL Tom Compton. The 49ers also didn’t keep a return man at receiver with Nsimba Webster and Travis Benjamin both getting let go.
