Right, another football game
Call me crazy, but it’s a bit hard to be interested in a football game after yesterday. In any case, it might be a fun game for football fans. Despite my rampant cynicism as a fan clouding my judgment of the game, I can still gamble!
Tonight, the New Orleans Saints travel to face the Kansas City Chiefs. The narrative is whether the Saints can compete even with the Chiefs facing the injury bug. It’s the Chiefs, so your opinions of their 4-0 record may vary.
For 49ers fans, it’s a precarious spot. Rooting for the Chiefs to win helps the NFC out, as it’s currently the Minnesota Vikings and just about everyone else. Rooting for the Saints because of your feelings towards the Chiefs is also correct. The Chiefs are 4-0, though a couple of those wins are just strange (See: NFL Officiating).
The Chiefs are dealing with numerous injury issues right now. Most recently, they lost wide receiver Rashee Rice. This, of course, makes things “challenging” for quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
The Saints are the Saints. They are a 2-2 team. That’s about all there is. Chris Olave has stepped into the wide receiver shoes left by Michael Thomas, but running back Alvin Kamara seems to have taken a step back. He’s only hit 100 yards once (against the Cowboys, in a three-touchdown romp). He has managed to have over 5.5 yards per carry over the last two games, and it’s only four games, so not much to be disappointed with yet.
FanDuel Sportsbook has the Chiefs favored by 5.5 points. Give me those points. I don’t think the Saints win this since the game is in Kansas City, but I do think they can get within that 5.5 spread. Put some money on the Saints. Also, bet the under of 42.5 points. This will be a fun game but not a high-scoring one.
Who do you root for in this?
