The Jaguars are back in the 49ers’ coaching business.
Despite what you feel from the 2024 season, the 49ers are a successful organization and, as such, will be getting requests from teams to interview their coaching staff. Now it’s the Jacksonville Jaguars’ turn.
Fox Sports’ Jordan Schultz reports that the Jaguars have requested an interview with 49ers assistant offensive line coach Cameron Clemmons. This would be for the Jaguars’ offensive line coach position under newly hired head coach Liam Coen.
Clemmons has spent one season with the 49ers.
This interview request will likely be a move San Francisco wouldn’t block. Clemmons came to the team at the beginning of 2024 from the Las Vegas Raiders, while the person he replaced, James Cregg, departed for that same team to be their offensive line coach.
A report should come out in the next few days indicating whether an interview occurred and whether the 49ers need to find their second assistant offensive line coach in as many years. In the next couple of weeks, we’ll probably see a few more interviews for these other assistant positions so coaches can continue their careers.
