The San Francisco 49ers and their brass are set for a busy week with draft season heating up at the annual NFL Draft Combine in Indianapolis, Indiana. Along with evaluating talent on the field at the combine, John Lynch and his staff will be able to formally interview multiple prospects during their time in Indianapolis.
One player that is reportedly set to meet with the 49ers is Auburn defensive back D.J. James. According to Justin Melo of The Draft Network, James has a formal interview with the 49ers and the Las Vegas Raiders scheduled for Tuesday evening at the combine.

James played three seasons with Oregon in the Pac-12 before transferring to Aubrun for his final two seasons. On his way to an All-SEC second-team bid in 2022, James tallied 25 tackles in 12 games with eight pass deflections, an interception and one touchdown. In his final season at Auburn, James recorded 30 tackles with two interceptions and ten pass deflections.
