The saga is officially over.
After a summer of speculation that included a trade request and an extended hold-in at training camp, Thursday marked the start of a new era for Brandon Aiyuk.
According to Adam Schefter of ESPN and multiple other reports, Aiyuk agreed to a new four-year extension with the San Francisco 49ers worth $120 million. Aiyuk is now set to be a member of the 49ers for the next five seasons.

Aiyuk is the latest wide receiver to secure a mega extension worth millions of dollars. Just this offseason, pass catchers like Dallas’ CeeDee Lamb, Minneosta’s Justin Jefferson, Miami’s Jaylen Waddle and Detroit’s Amon-Ra St. Brown have all signed new extensions during the offseason.
With Aiyuk now under contract for an average annual value of $30 million and Deebo Samuel making $23 million per season, the 49ers have two of the top-15 highest-paid wide receivers in the NFL. Aiyuk will become the second highest-paid member of the 49ers, sliding in behind only pass rusher Nick Bosa.
Aiyuk alone will now be one of the top-paid wide receivers in all of football with only five players making more annually than the former Arizona State Sun Devil.
