Christian McCaffrey won’t get the chance to play in the Super Bowl, but at least he has some new plans for February.
The NFL named the San Francisco 49ers running back to the Pro Bowl. He’ll replace Miles Sanders, who will instead participate in the Super Bowl.
While McCaffrey would undoubtedly switch places with the Philadelphia Eagles running back in a nanosecond, fans thought he was robbed when initially left off the Pro Bowl roster. They’re happy to see the 26-year-old eventually receive his second nod.
“My man should have been there anyways,” a fan said on Twitter.
“Deserved is an understatement,” another fan wrote.
“The fact he wasn’t there to begin with was crazy,” a fan wrote. “Congrats CMC, well deserved.”
“Well CMC going to the Pro Bowl after all,” a fan said. “Know he would prefer the SB but hey….”
After playing just 10 games over the previous two seasons, McCaffrey bounced back to tally 1,880 total yards and 13 touchdowns for the 49ers and Carlina Panthers. Voters appeared to overlook his elite receiving production when excluding him in favor of Sanders, Saquon Barkley, and Tony Pollard.
Yet McCaffrey is going to Las Vegas after all. The new Pro Bowl Games, featuring a series of skills competitions and flag football games, take place this Thursday and Sunday.
