The state of California finds itself divided on Sunday for the NFC Championship Game as two teams from “The Golden State” will square off with a spot in the Super Bowl on the line. The Los Angeles Rams will welcome the San Francisco 49ers into SoFi Stadium this evening for the conference championship matchup.
Regional loyalties will be on display when the two teams take the field on Sunday. Among those that will find their rooting interests split are the Vice President and the Second Gentleman.
Vice President Kamala Harris and her husband Douglas Emhoff won’t be on the same side of things when the NFC Championship kicks off this evening. Harris, an Oakland native, will be pulling for the 49ers, while Emhoff will be rooting for the Rams.
The Second Gentleman shared a picture of the two wearing hats with logos of their respective teams on social media before the game got underway.
“Hey @VP, hopefully we can at least agree on what snacks to eat tonight,” Emhoff wrote on Twitter Sunday afternoon.

The Rams will enter Sunday’s game as a slim favorite at home. However, the Niners have had the number of their division rivals so far this season, beating them twice in the regular season.
It’s no easy task to beat the same team three times in the same year, but San Francisco comes into the NFC Championship playing some of its best football of the year. The Rams will have to overcome a stout defense and a strong traveling crowd if they want to advance to the Super Bowl in their hometown in two weeks time.
The NFC Championship kicks off at 6:30 p.m. ET.
