Former NFL running back Frank Gore is reuniting with the team that drafted him in 2005.
On Friday night, Gore signed a contract with the 49ers. It was then revealed that he’s joining San Francisco’s front office.
“Congrats to my brother Frank Gore on taking a job with the 49ers front office,” Malki Kawa of First Round Management tweeted. “He was the first person to tell me I should become an agent almost 20yrs ago.”
Gore was already considered a 49ers legend, and rightfully so. During his 10-year stint with the franchise, he had 11,073 rushing yards, 2,883 receiving yards and 75 total touchdowns.
Even though Gore spent time on the Colts, Dolphins, Bills and Jets before retiring from the NFL, he’ll always be remembered for his time with the 49ers.

Unsurprisingly, 49ers fans are ecstatic about Gore returning to the Bay Area.
Time will tell if Gore can help San Francisco’s front office reach new heights.
