The San Francisco 49ers will return to the Super Bowl for another chance to take down the Kansas City Chiefs. Kyle Shanahan will hope to have George Kittle at full strength for the championship rematch.
On Monday, Shanahan told reporters that Kittle is day-to-day with a toe injury. Cornerback Ambry Thomas is also dealing with an ankle issue.
Luckily for those players, they have an extra week to heal before facing the Chiefs in Las Vegas on Sunday, Feb. 11.
#49ers CB Ambry Thomas has an ankle injury. TE George Kittle has a toe issue. Both will be day to day as we head toward Super Bowl LVIII, according to Kyle Shanahan.
Niners otherwise made it out of Sunday night’s game healthy.

Kittle received his second All-Pro designation when leading all tight ends with 1,020 receiving yards this season. He sparked an NFC Divisional Round victory over the Green Bay Packers with 81 yards and a touchdown.
However, the 30-year-old took a backseat in San Francisco’s passing game on Sunday. Kittle caught two of three targets for 27 yards.
That didn’t stop the 49ers from erasing a 17-point halftime deficit in a 34-31 victory at Santa Clara. Based on footage from Inside The NFL, including him motivating Brock Purdy on the sideline, Kittle never lost confidence in his team.
“I can’t until after the game [when] I get to say, ‘You know what, they had us in the first half,'” Kittle told Purdy. “Keep slinging it. Have fun. Encourage the guys, right? You’re the guy.”
Kittle has two weeks to get his ankle right before facing Kansas City at Allegiant Stadium.
