Elbow inflammation has caused Brock Purdy’s UCL surgery to be delayed, but Niners GM John Lynch offered an update on the QB’s timeline Tuesday.
Per 49ers team reporter Lindsey Palleres, Lynch says: “Purdy is expected to meet with Dr. Meister this week and if cleared, his repair surgery would happen next week.”
Palleres went on to say that Lynch “praised Dr. Meister for making the tough call to hold off on surgery.”
The 49ers enter the offseason with anything but a clear picture of who their quarterback will be in 2023.
If all goes well, Purdy could be back for Week 1 according to reports. But will San Francisco opt to go with Trey Lance given how much capital they gave up to get him two years ago? Lance is also coming off a pretty serious ankle injury that ended his season at two games.
Coach Kyle Shanahan has said he see’s no scenario in which Jimmy Garoppolo is back in cherry red and gold. So there are a lot of questions that still need to be answered in The Bay.
