Your daily San Francisco 49ers news for Sunday, March 16th, 2025
“The 49ers will receive a 2026 sixth-round draft pick and a 2025 pick swap in return for Mason, Rapoport and Tom Pelissero reported Saturday.”
From release to return: Kyle Juszczyk back with the 49ers in unexpected twist (paywall)
“With Juszczyk’s return, Farrell’s generous contract appears odd given his modest resume and the presence of All-Pro tight end George Kittle. Farrell, a 2021 fifth-round pick, is a blocking tight end who had 12 catches for 67 yards in 17 games last season. He has 36 catches for 318 yards and no touchdowns in his 66-game career.
Kittle will turn 32 in October and is entering the final year of his contract, but the 49ers have engaged in extension talks with his agent this offseason and Lynch said last month that he wants Kittle to retire with the franchise. Kittle is coming off one of the best seasons, with 78 catches, his most since 2019, for 1,106 yards, the second-highest total of his eight-year career.
Kittle, who is one of Juszczyk’s closest friends, posted a picture on social media of he and Juszczyk walking to a practice together that included emojis of a broken heart and juice box when Juszczyk was released. Late Friday night, Kittle was back on social media to hint at Juszczyk’s return: This time, he had a picture of he and Juszczyk in suits that included emojis of a heart and juice box.”
Report: Kupp, 49ers rival agree to three-year, $45M contract
“While it remains to be seen if Kupp will be able to reach his previous levels in Seattle, it certainly will be an odd sight seeing him in a Seahawks jersey after nearly a decade in Los Angeles.”
