“Pro Football Network analyst Jacob Infante recently released a seven-round mock draft, projecting every selection for all 32 NFL teams. The San Francisco 49ers, coming off a 6-11 finish in the 2024 season, hold the 11th overall pick, positioning them to land top-tier talent in the first round.”
49ers mailbag: Who’s the pick at No. 11? Will they say so long to Deebo Samuel? (paywall)
“The 49ers’ Wide 9 defensive line alignment, in which their defensive ends are positioned waaaay outside the offensive tackles, makes them susceptible to inside runs. And that vulnerability wasn’t such a big deal when defensive tackles such as DeForest Buckner, Arik Armstead, D.J. Jones and Javon Hargrave were on the field.

That man: Mississippi defensive tackle Walter Nolen, who anchored the nation’s second-ranked rush defense this past season while earning first-team All-America honors and being named a finalist for the Outland Trophy, given to the NCAA’s top interior linemen.”
