The San Francisco 49ers didn’t stand a chance against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday once Brock Purdy went down.
Purdy, who had been playing super well since replacing Jimmy Garoppolo on Dec. 4, injured his elbow early in the first half. He suffered a UCL injury and could barely throw the ball five yards after he came back in during the second half when Josh Johnson got hurt.
After the game, 49ers star tight end George Kittle was pretty upset about how the team had to play the entire game being one-dimensional.
“How does that feel to lose an NFC Championship Game ’cause I don’t have a quarterback? Pretty sh*tty, to be honest,” Kittle said, via NESN. “Yeah, that’s about it.”
Purdy only completed four passes for 23 yards while Johnson only completed seven passes for 74 yards.
The quarterback situation in the Bay Area will be one to monitor throughout the offseason as Purdy and Trey Lance figure to be in the 49ers’ plans for next season.
