With the writing on the wall in San Francisco, 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo has been linked to a number of teams this offseason. From the Pittsburgh Steelers and newly-minted Washington Commanders; to now the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
On Thursday, FOX Sports 1’s Colin Cowherd predicted the starting QB for 12 teams with questions behind center.
One of which is the Bucs, who Cowherd believes could be in play to swing a trade for Jimmy G.

“I don’t know when it happens, but the Buccaneers have the kind of roster that they could give a starting player to the Niners in the secondary or O-line,” Cowherd said. “So, I think what San Francisco wants for Garoppolo is a draft pick and a starter and Tampa’s got the depth to do that.”
“The Herd” host was upfront with Garoppolo’s limitations, but noted he’s won a lot of games in this league.
“By the way, Jimmy’s 21-7 on the road as a starting quarterback — second only in league history to Patrick Mahomes,” Cowherd continued. “Why? Garoppolo’s gutty. Say what you want about him, he can be limited, but I think he gives you everything he has. He’s got an alpha in him and I think for two years he’d work.”
Landing in Tampa would once again place Jimmy G back in Tom Brady’s shadow. Once the heir-apparent in New England, it’s possible Garoppolo could once again be next in-line with the Bucs and their talented roster.
