The San Francisco 49ers didn’t have many changes to their Thursday practice participation report.
One big difference between Wednesday and Thursday though was Christian McCaffrey’s return to practice after sitting out Wednesday’s session. This was the pattern the reigning Offensive Player of the Year followed leading up to Week 12, but Thursday offered a positive twist for the RB. He wasn’t listed with an injury Wednesday, and was a full participant Thursday.
McCaffrey previously had only had limited practices early in the week. That the club isn’t listing his Achilles injury anymore is a good sign, and that they’re ramping him up with full practice is a plus.
The only other change for the 49ers was wide receiver Chris Conley landing as a limited participant because of a knee injury. He wasn’t listed on Wednesday’s report.
Here’s the full Thursday participation report:
Did not participate
LG Aaron Banks (concussion)
DE Nick Bosa (hip, oblique)
DT Jordan Elliott (concussion)
LB Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles (knee)
CB Deommodore Lenoir (knee)
LT Trent Williams (ankle)
This makes five starters who have missed the first two days of practice for the 49ers ahead of what is ostensibly a must-win game. Yikes!
Limited participation
WR Chris Conley (knee)
DT Kevin Givens (groin)
CB Renardo Green (neck)
LB Dre Greenlaw (Achilles)
RG Dominick Puni (shoulder)
QB Brock Purdy (shoulder)
Purdy’s limited participation doesn’t mean a ton given that he was limited all week before Week 12, then didn’t play in the game.
Full participation
WR Jacob Cowing (concussion)
CB Charvarius Ward (not injury related – personal matter)
Good news all around here. Ward isn’t guaranteed to play, but his return would be helpful if Lenoir isn’t playing.
