At least the 49ers beat them both.
Since we had an entire San Francisco 49ers game to digest the news that they are not going to the postseason, maybe watching a team trying to solidify its positioning will be easier now. It still hurts this blogger, though.
What do tonight’s teams have in common with the 49ers? The 49ers beat them both. There you go. At least you have that.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are facing the Dallas Cowboys. The two teams’ futures couldn’t be more different. The Buccaneers lead the NFC South but are tied with the Atlanta Falcons. Meanwhile, the Cowboys were eliminated from the postseason earlier today, so they are playing for pride. Given that they are out of things, one would have to think they pull the blanket off Trey Lance and let him hit the field for a few games to get some gameday experience.
The Buccaneers have some urgency to win this game, and the Cowboys are trying to get something going. Many players will want to show their talents to ensure they are on the roster next year.
FanDuel Sportsbook has the Buccaneers favored by 3.5 points. Yeah, take the Buccaneers. The Cowboys psychologically have to digest that their season is essentially over, and this is against the Buccaneers, who still have a job to do. Given everything that happened, it’s hard to see a scenario where the Buccaneers don’t run away with this. Yes, Cowboys edge rusher Michah Parsons will get his, but this won’t be much.
The over-under is set at 48.5 points. Take the over. Garbage-time touchdowns are going to be a thing in this one.
Hopefully, this is the last game we don’t see Trey Lance on the field.
