One of two Saturday Games gets going this afternoon
The NFL regular season is coming to a close, and we’ll kick things off with two Saturday games. Today, the Cleveland Browns travel to face the Baltimore Ravens.
The Browns are out of postseason contention and playing for Cleveland Brown pride at this point. Quarterback Jameis Winston, who was filling in for DeShaun Watson, will not be starting. Instead Bailey Zappe will be starting. Regarding the position, the Browns will have some big decisions to make this offseason. They plan to keep Watson competing for a starting job despite the September allegations of sexual assault. This is on top of his previous history.
Meanwhile, the Ravens have not clinched the AFC North and have the Pittsburgh Steelers one win behind them. A win makes life easier for the Ravens. Win, and it’s over.
FanDuel Sportsbook has the Ravens favored at 19.5 points. That is a lot of points. I want to take the Ravens here because this is going to be nasty, but that’s nearly three touchdowns they need to win by, and you know once they have this locked up against Zappe, they won’t run the score up, they’ll go conservative to get ready for the playoffs. I don’t feel good about it, but I’ll roll the dice on this one. Give me the Ravens to cover. The Browns have next to nothing.
The over-under is set at 41.5 points. So if you bet the Ravens, in a way, I’m expecting 21 of those points to be theirs if they can win by 19.5. Take the under here. The Browns have no offense, and a 28-7 score seems like how things will shake out.
I’m also going to take that sweet prop bet of Ravens tight end Mark Andrews getting the first touchdown and throw some additional cash on an Andrews anytime touchdown.
Enjoy the rest of the regular season. See you this evening.
