Too high? Too low? Or just right?
San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy is one of the most polarizing players in his position in the NFL. A day after struggling with interceptions in training camp, he followed that up with four on Tuesday. Of course, it’s training camp, and there are always asterisks and reasons for those.
The conversation surrounding Purdy is always the same. Many struggle to separate what he brings to the table and how much credit he deserves in comparison to his supporting cast.
Players around the NFL have a high opinion of Purdy, as he ranked No. 29 on the NFL’s Top 100 list:

Tight end George Kittle was on KNBR Tuesday and has positive things to say about his quarterback. Here’s what Kittle said when asked if Purdy had any noticeable improvements now that the offseason is over:
“I feel like he’s just more comfortable with the offense. He seems very comfortable with it, and he seems like he’s taking it and making it his offense. Just his confidence in the pocket, throwing the ball, telling guys, ‘Hey, you need to do this. You need to push your route depth here. Yeah, you need to run out of it.
He just has this confidence, and he just has this, like, ‘This is my job.’ And it’s not something that, I want to say, you’re always fighting for your job, but he’s like, ‘I’m making this job better. I’m getting better while I’m out here.’”
Kittle spoke about Purdy’s mindset and said you can see that he wants to be great every single day. That’s what you want in your quarterback. All eyes will be on the QB, and if his teammates see that type of work ethic, it’ll trickle down to everybody else.
