San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy isn’t concerned about his next contract.
Even though he only has two years left on his contract, he’s focused on winning, not his potential payday.
“I’m trying to win this year and do everything I can for this organization this year,” Purdy said, via FOX News. “Everything else happens how it happens. But for me, I need to get better from last year on the film and the things that I saw from last year. In my rookie year, I’ve got this thing in me where it’s like, I want to continue to master my craft and that’s that.”
Purdy was “Mr. Irrelevant” from the 2022 NFL Draft before he burst onto the scene late in that season. He helped the 49ers get to the NFC Championship Game that year before leading them to a Super Bowl berth this past year.
Even though they lost, he still had a strong year, finishing with 4,280 yards through the air and 31 touchdowns. Since taking over the starting job, he’s 17-4.
Sure he’s had bad games and moments but the team still wins when he’s under center.
He’ll look to continue those winning ways and get the 49ers over the hump when the 2024 season starts in September.
