The San Francisco 49ers got some great news on Tuesday morning regarding quarterback Brock Purdy.
Per Dave Lombardi of The Athletic, Purdy is expected to start throwing this week for the first time since he had surgery on his UCL. This should come right on schedule.
Brock Purdy is expected to resume throwing this week for the first time after Keith Meister installed an internal brace to repair his torn UCL. Resumption should come right on or before the original recovery schedule, which called for throwing 3 months post-surgery (early June)

Purdy suffered a torn UCL during the NFC Championship Game against the Philadelphia Eagles this past January. He got hit extremely hard at the start of the game and was unable to do much of anything for the rest of it.
He comes into this season as the expected starter but will be pushed by Trey Lance, who was the third overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. Lance was the starter last season before he got hurt and had to miss the remainder of the season.
Before Purdy got hurt, he was having a stellar rookie campaign, completing 67.1% of his passes for 1,374 yards, 13 touchdowns, and four interceptions.
