Week 2 starts with a fun Thursday Night Football game. Well, on paper
Week 2 of the NFL season begins tonight with a Thursday Night Football matchup between the Buffalo Bills and the Miami Dolphins.
The Dolphins just got off giving a one-two field goal punch to end the game against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 1. The Jaguars started out up by two touchdowns, but the Dolphins dug out of the hole and won the game via a couple of field goals in the fourth quarter to tie and then take the lead respectively.
The Bills had a very interesting Week 1. While they managed to win, they were definitely caught sleeping by the Cardinals. The game wound up being pretty fun, with the Bills regaining the lead in the 3rd quarter, but the Cardinals kept nipping away every chance they could. Buffalo managed to hang on, but I for one definitely didn’t see the game playing out like that.
Bills-Dolphins games always make good TV so one can hope that the Week 1 slop that we were treated to is gone and these two give us a good, competitive TNF game.
FanDuel Sportsbook has the Dolphins favored by 2.5 points. The line opened up on some sites at a single point but is settling at 2.5. Seems like a lot of action is being made for the Dolphins here, but I’m a bit skittish. I think Buffalo’s defense comes back to form, but there were some early indicators of what we might be getting from the 2024 Bills. Josh Allen is also dealing with a hand injury that may come into play tonight. With that in mind, put some money on the Dolphins, but don’t put all your money on the Dolphins.
The one thing I feel more confident about is the over-under of 48.5. Bet the under in this one. It may go a point or two over, but I feel pretty good of this game being around 46 points when it’s all said and done.
As far as prop bets: I’d take a flyer on each team getting one touchdown and one field goal at half. 10-10 seems believable. I bet the adjustments come and it’s a boring second half as far as points are concerned. Jaylen Waddle and Tyreek Hill each getting 20+ receiving yards in each half also seems like a nice flyer. None of these are anything I am saying load up your cash on, but they seem fun enough to see if we can get a nice payday.
